Probably running on the original 1996 era Michelins which are petrified hockey pucks by now.
And not knowing what to do when the massive torque curve comes into the midrange "sweet zone" that these cars have. This is exactly how the vast majority of them were wrecked back in the day. Sad. |

Hi... Not to dispute your info, just going by personal experience. I worked as a Firefighter for 33 years in Toronto. Over 20 years of that I worked on the 401 highway,12 lanes wide. When it would start to rain, likely at rush hour, we would get an influx of MV accidents. In the late 80's, early 90's when the 5L Mustang was "the performance Car" alot of the cars were owned by "non performance " drivers. I can count 10 Mustangs without trying and there would be more if my memory was better...LOL Three of these were the worst fatal accidents I ever attended. I had a total write off Lambo, but no Vipers. Now in defense of that, we did not get many Vipers delivered here in Ontario (Canada) |

People over estimate how well they can hook on street/hard tires.

The viper is perhaps the most wrecked car on the planet. Like I said when the V-10 hits a point in the Powerband the rear end breaks loose If this is accompanied by a down shift then it is double trouble for control.
Here is a site that tracks them all: http://www.wreckedexotics.com/dodge/viper Last edited by 70 copo; 04-14-2022 at 10:27 PM. Reason: Added context. |

The car had a little US map on the turtle deck and there was a "flame" representing every place he crashed. K

And those Vipers don't have traction control.

Just playing devil's advocate here.
"Here in the US Law enforcement has a confidential database on crashes by cause. This includes street racing and stunt driving as cause sub categories. Here the viper is a national leader in the in this category for loss of control and street racing accidents." If it is confidential, how do you know the content?
