I have NEVER seen a reproduction RC 15 that looked right, JMO. OK to use them but you better test them.

I have to agree with Mike. I had a repop cap on a Chevelle, it got up to operating temp one day and blew the upper radiator hose right off the thermostat cover. The freshly detailed engine compartment was a mess. The hose clamp was tight. Grady had warned me about these caps testing much higher than 15 psi. Just doing a pressure test by hand told me the repop cap was considerably firmer than an original RC 15.

FWIW. I have an NOS 227 upper radiator hose and the part number font is similar to the smaller font markings posted by Chris earlier in this thread.
