Hauser had #4 & #43. #43 was stolen in '72, never recovered. #4 acquired some kind of 396 and was sold for the 1st time April 1971. Still here in a private collection.

Hauser repainted it; 1st owner put Cragars all around. Probably looked like this 1971-1980.

Guys, I know the guy that bought that car, from Hauser chevy. I saw the paperwork, from the dealer. The camaro was a L-78, when he bought it. He never knew what he had. Until i told him! The car is owned by a doctor, in either wis or mich. Benny

Well remember Lens ZL-1 car that he raced in 1970 he also had a 69 Yenko Camaro that came out of Karen Chevrolet that car has been found about 40 min. from Easton, Pa. Len ran against his Yenko car in the finals at Great Meadows one year what a thrill to win against your own race car he had to get someone to drive the car that day since he would race one during the races then get in the other one afterwards he is a great racer still talk to him he is the one that verified his Yenko car a while back after the person bought the car to restore it since Len did something special to the suspension to the ZL-1 car and the Yenko car after he bought them brand new to race them just shows how good he was at racing to go out buy two expensive cars like that back then brand new to race. Sorry have not been on here too much was busy moving from Florida to upstate New York since my wife passed away in Sept. 2008 I have alot of old 8mm movies from Vargo, Island, Harmony and other drag strips from 66-71 out of the Phillipsburg, N.J. area I need to get put on disk when I get time. There is even a old corvair that came out of Yenko that was getting tested at Island Dragway that had a 427 in the back seat they were just getting the bugs out of it that day took about 5 trips down the track till they got it running right I will get time soon get them on disk.

Hi Barry,

Welcome back. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. Thanks for posting the vintage photos and sharing the story about the two COPO cars!
