Belair,
I do have a full page black & white ad showing the Challenger mounted with an M/T Super Stock drag slick. There's also another small ad for them in one of my old catalogs, maybe Honest Charley. I don't have anything scanned though.
I know the wheels have often been referred to as "M/T Radars". They do look very similar, but I don't believe Radar ever produced a 3-rib spoke. I've often wondered if Mickey Thompson modified a Radar mold and added the two extra ribs, then marketed his own wheels. Each wheel is cast with "M/T 1965" inside the back of one spoke.
I think they're great looking wheels, but I'm sorry, those "radir" things just rub me the wrong way, no matter how cool the car is. Can't help it.

Strange..I'll have to post a pic of those M/T #1 wheels...can you post the pics you have of the Challengers ? They may hve re-named them. I think mine may be earlier than 65...the aluminum center is riveted to the outher steel chrome wheel and they are NOS. Sears actually sold wheels like this too...I have a couple in big Pontiac bolt pattern ! I would think Mickey had them first...Camarojoe...what do you have on these ?

Yes, it's possible Sears did sell them. Mine are all rivited like that as well, which causes them to leak. You have to seal the rivit heads before mounting the tires. I also have a set of 5" circle. They were on a '64 Bonneville.
I'll try to get the ad scanned.

I know they were made in 1,2 & 3 rib designs early on.....Whatever was popular was commonly "stolen" and repopped even back in the day. M/T Radir,Rader,Fenton ect..All had a pretty similiar wheel.Different is good.I think it is refreshing to see a car without Cragers,Torq-Thrust,Rallys,XT's....Show us your Fly's, Spyders,Strippers,Slots...There used to be more wheel combos than cars...
