Does the brown car really need a total resto? I would drive it as-is!

I know the brown car very well,I sold it to the original owner twice. I would drive it as is and leave the history of the car intacted.

I remember the car coming in under warranty a few times. Once we replaced the ring gear and another time we rebuilt the trans. The axle housing and trans case are original to the car. The car was traded into Scuncio by the second owner,at that time it had a 350 in it I don't know where the 427 went. I resold it to the original owner a few days later and he still has it.

So much for the HD COPO-spec gearset! It's neat to hear a first-hand account of these cars when they were new. Certainly explains why the drivetrains in most of them are long gone.
