I was racing a 57 Chevy 283 4 barrel stocker when Boertman was racing the 59 and I was having trouble with the old 3 speed trashing synchros. I asked Dave one night at US131 how he kept the sychros in his transmission and he just laughed. He told me he just knocked them out with a punch, put the tranny back together and power shifted every time he shifted. I tried it and it worked like a charm. He didn't hold back, all you had to do was ask him a question and he gave you the answers.
Great guy! ![]()
