Default Re: newb intro and need advice please - 68 GTO project

hey Tony
i built an evo sporty - won chopper of the month over at clubchopper.com (not that that means anything but it made me feel good!!)

91 883 bumped to 1200 wiseco kit
custom frame
bunch of random / swap meet parts
springer front end

the frame on the car is supposedly good and there are def some rust spots on sheetmetal. my bud and i can do some of the sheetmetal but prob not all. this is def a daily driver vs a full up restore.

there are pics here

Jason..Looks like a lot of rust repair will be needed on it. When you can see that much, there will be more hiding. I would have to take a good look at the hidden rust before I could make a decision. Good luck and welcome to the site.

thanks Tony
I think what i'll do is see if he'll do a "gentleman's agreement" to meet and inspect both the car and bike. He mentioned I could drive it etc. If he will agree that if either he isnt a fan of the bike or I am not a fan of the car then we part ways. I think thats fair and to be sure each person is satisfied. It could be worse or better in person, really the only way to know.

I have spent about 20 hours on ebay and misc forums and i am seeing GTO projects in various stages with and without drivetrains from anywhere between 2k and 8k. all over the map!
