Default Re: Nice 1969 Z/28 Find (7848 Miles)

The problem is, it seems that 95% of the time when nice original cars like this are "restored", its by some hack resto shop that doesn't document anything or restore it correctly... and the car basically just gets a glorified paint job rather than a proper restoration it deserves, losing the cool original build details that are not duplicated and are lost forever. In doing so it would make a very solid and original car one of just another of the 100's of "sorta" restored 69 Z's. Now if someone like the Supercar Workshop did the car, noting all details specific to this car, the build processes of the plant it was built in, and properly duplicated everything in the process of the car's ressurection, I would say a complete restoration would be in order... aside from that, I'd rather see it left alone than have some shadetree shop tear it apart and do it all wrong. From what I read, the restoration shop this guy is considering didn't even think it was a real Z, so the odds of them restoring it properly are about slim to none.
