Can you imagine how bad the smell of burnt hair would be after a backfire? Not to mention if you HAD (no pun intended) facial hair.

Even w/ a lesser torque engine, it's that chain flying off the bike taking you or if 'lucky' just your leg w/ it that I'd be most concerned about!.

Recall a bike looking a lot like that one - upright, ape bars, transverse blown big block - eating it pretty hard at the Grove circa late '70's early '80's.
