			I restore my accelerator rod and bracket in "grey phosphate" but dip the smog pulley in semi gloss black laquer. I think I have only seen 1-2 original pulleys done in phosphate before and Chris W had told me they are normally painted. I do sometimes see the water pump pulley phosphated however. 			Almost all of the 70 LS6 and L78 W/P pulleys I have seen are dark phosphate,I just sold an original 6060AP and it was very dark phosphate.

			JRSully, Why do you suppose the Big Block water pump pullys were phosphated, whereas most 70 Z-28 restorations with (V) Flint LT-1's had painted water pump pulleys.....Were the engines dressed at the car plants or the engine plants????

			Might have something to do with the suppliers/manufacturers who made them for GM. Specs probably called for them to be protected ie: 'coated' in something. If the BB pulley supplier was also doing a lot of brackets/clips that were already being phosphated maybe they just threw the pulleys in.? Good question Chuck
