Your repops are the best out there Earl, and I have recommended them to several people... The thickness is actually very close. I stripped the paint out of mine and actually sprayed them for nice, even coverage..."over-restored" yes, but what the hell!
What alot of folks don't realize is that even original Yenko emblems were not all the same. There was apparently at least 2 (maybe 3 or 4) different runs of them produced and there are slight variations to them.

Joe is correct on all counts, Earls emblems are the best out there next to finding NOS ones. It took me about 5 years to find 3 NOS ones for my car - not easy, and not cheap!

OK, enough of the "easy" Yenko emblem trivia.. what does anyone know about this one?

Geez! You've been hawkin that same old emblem for years, and we still don't know what it's for. Yenko probably realized that it was a lot cheaper to put the LT/1 into the stripe design on the hood compared to having emblems made/installed.
Got any prototype stripe pics where there's no LT/1 on the hood? ![]()

The reason I brought it up is I recently picked up another pair of them, with a very similar story behind them as the ones I scored back in 2002 and again in 2004. They were definitely something Yenko had made, legit Yenko specific pieces, and may or may not have been used for whatever reason. I do know they were included in the glovebox of at least one car that was shipped to a network dealer. BTW...Just because the Deuce stripe has "LT-1" in it doesn't mean diddley squat in regards to if any of these emblems were ever stuck on a car... the stripe has "Yenko" in it too, but that didn't stop them from adding Yenko badges too (in 3 places, plus a logo on the tach and on all 4 wheel centers!) did it? Didn't think so...
![]() I still think Don opted not to use them simply because when the COPO Novas arrived they already had 350 emblems on the fenders... He was probably expecting them to be totally void of badges like the COPO Camaro's of 69 were. (In which he added his own 427 badges btw!) I post them from time to time in hopes an original Deuce owner or someone else who was around back then will share any story or knowledge of them... nothin' wrong with tryin' to research this stuff is there? ![]() |

You'll have to remind me Joey, but are these badges roughly the same size as the engine call outs? Or bigger/smaller??

I was just thinking that Don was cheapin out by not opting for emblems if he didn't have to. He would however add his name anywhere he could!

You'll have to remind me Joey, but are these badges roughly the same size as the engine call outs? Or bigger/smaller?? [/ QUOTE ] Funny you should ask... I wondered that myself and just went out to check... Turns out they are darn near identical in size to a "350" fender badge.. and they affix with 2 sided tape, just like the Yenko badges for 70. Incidently, they were also packaged in a clear baggie with 2 badges per baggie. So are ya startin' to feel what I'm layin' down? Yenko issued LT-1 badges, packaged 2 per bag, and identical in size to the factory 350 callouts that Don probably wasn't expecting to be there...hmmm.... ![]()
