The factory called and had me drop off my 08 Shelby GT 500 for the 725 HP Supersnake conversion package. They have completed about 40 so far and they really look great. Neat package with adjustable Eibach suspension, Kenne Bell Supercharger, brake ducting, front and rear sway bars, cosmetics etc. Best of all they all come with a small Shelby plaque that says "faster and way better than Charley's Supersnake" ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Those are some impressive #'s to be sure. Now, do the upgrades permit that power to get to the pavement adequately? If so, how do these revamped beasts compare to the latest iterations of Corvette and Viper on the zero-sixty parameter? or is it just a bunch of ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The traction will be minimal at best. From the factory the traction sucks and wheel hop is perhaps the worst I have ever experienced in a car. Shelby adds adjustable Eibach springs and shocks with much larger rear sway bars and and another added rear sway bar so perhaps it will be better? The early cars are turning low to mid 11s at 123 in stock configuration but that is with their test driver behind the wheel who has logged thousands of test miles. I expect with me behind the wheel mid 14s perhaps???

Today at the Hemming's show/drags in Lebanon Valley, the best a new Shelby ran was low 13's. A club brought a number of them to race and finally a guy was able to break into the mid 12's after numerous passes. They were spinning tires down a 1/8th mile of the track.

I think the supersnake suspension upgrades and brake upgrades are designed for road racing and not the drag strip? They have been tinkering with a Shelby Mustang drag car package for a while but I am not sure Ford is behind it?

Those cars are very tricky to hook up. All that instant torque from the supercharger makes for massive tire spin. A good set of drag radials is a must at the track.
