Do IT! Get a 1/32 scale setup. I had AFX as a kid and picked up a Scalextric set a couple of years ago and the kids and I have a blast with it. Still have an AFX setup that I need to get up and running again.

I will echo DO IT !!! Life is SHORT !! Get that AFX track or Trains or drum set!! My wife had trains when she was a kid and she always yacked about them. So I went out and picked up four lionel sets and laid them out on a folding 4x8 platform. I used to break them out every year for Christmas, haven't seen them in a few years but know with Grandkids they will probably come out again this year!
Everybody Loves Trains! (not so with the drums)
