W
![]() More than a few of us here are interested in the history of any Motion modified cars so before this car sells, can you share any of the things learned about it and/or any car's visits to Motion?. Have you uncovered any more information or similar examples of the engine stampings this car has?. Do you know if the stinger hood originally installed was an A&A unit also is the one you have on it now an A&A unit or something different?. Can you share what facts you uncovered about this car receiving the stinger hood, sidepipes and wheels during it's vist to Motion?. Your ad suggests the flat hood you have w/ the deal is the original hood removed when the first stinger was installed...is this so?. Thanks and best to you whatever you do w/ the car!. And are you not going to drive it before it sells...even once?! ![]() ~ Pete |

Well for the first thing it's kind of hard getting information out of a company that didn't keep up with paperwork very well at all. I do have the letter from Mr. Rosen that states the car came to Motion Performance to be modified. That's all that was recieved for $2,000........lol. The engine is stamped Motion Perf and it has 2 stampings of 3350 on each side of the motor and this matches the 3350 stamp that is on the drivers side in front of the vin plate under the piece between the hood and the windshield. I believe all these pictures are on the webpage I gave a link to. The stinger hood and side exhausts were removed from the car and tossed(Sad, Sad, Sad) and a metal hood and dual exhaust system was installed on the car. You can see a pic of this car in 1980 with the regular hood and exhaust on it in the pics also. I talked to a gentleman that lived in the same neighborhood the owner lived in and he said that the car had the stinger hood and side exhaust on the car originally in the early 70's. I tell you what kind of trips me out is this statement off the Baldwin Motion History site. Here is a paste of what it says: There is on Phase III - 396 Motion car floating around. A 1970 I believe. The customer wanted to keep the 396, the engine had the phase III goodies installed and it's invoiced as a Phase III. I have no ideal if this is that car because Motion themselves were modifying cars as well and not all cars were delivered through Baldwin Chevrolet. Here is another paste off the Motion History site: Not all cars modified by Motion Performance were delivered through Baldwin Chevrolet, (especially after Baldwin Chevrolet went out of biz). Stand alone Motion Performance Automobiles are generally called Conversions. Anyway, the car has the stampings that it is supposed to and has been verified by Joel Rosen's letter so I guess that's as good as it gets. If anyone knows anymore about this car please feel free to share the information with me. And she is a beauty, no doubt!!
