The center location may be the picture perfect location, but in practice I have seen more off center than in the dead center...BKH

[ QUOTE ]
I personally have never seen the amber glue on a 1st gen Camaro. Only black, and I have looked at many orignals...BKH [/ QUOTE ] I believe you, but I don't know where I got that it should be yellow....I thought off an original. Maybe I saw a repair and assumed it was original. I know when I did mine, I had some black weatherstrip adhesive, but I bought yellow for the sole purpose of gluing the joint. Thanks for clearing it up before someone made the same mistake I did. |

Was the joint actually glued?

I think the guy on the line just needed longer arms to hit the center...All the orig I've found have been offset...Lazy short armed auto workers!

Can't speak for Camaros but here's some shots of my 69 Nova and 70 Chevelle. Both joints are offset and both have the joints glued.
Nova first. ![]() ![]() And the Chevelle. ![]() ![]()

That's just a new junk radial on a vintage American TT. The REAL ORIGINAL spare is still right where it should be.
