That car looks pretty tough unrestored. Hopefully someone comes up with the history on this car.

------Just noticed that the rear wheels are real magnesium. Not sure on the fronts though. Those real mags are worth some serious dinero.........Bill S

What is the connection between Yenko and Dana?
I hope the car ends up having an interesting, legitimate history.... |

From what I know, Dana was the west coast distributor for the 66' Stingers. I know in 67' Dana figured out that Don was COPO ordering the Stinger bodies and COPO ordered 3 Corvairs. The only one we know the wherabouts of, is the one that Kasey ownes. I am sure that Kasey will correct me if I am wrong. I do not know what the relationship was prior to the Stingers.
I would just detail that car just like it is. The patina is awesome. ![]()

+++ Chris +++ Your about right, In Nov. 66 Dana , and Yenko had a deal, in that Dana would sale Yenko Stinger's , and Yenko was to sale the Dana 427 Camaro's, Dana had 427 Camaro's for sale in Oct. of 66 on the West Coast, and needed Yenko to sale them on the East Coast in that way each could help the other out. They ran a Ad in the Dec,1966 issue of The National Dragster, stating this that you could get there car's, and parts at either dealer...,but history as I know it, that no Dana's were sold by Yenko, but then there are those that know more about than me, and may let us know if he did.....Kasey

My eyes almost popped out when I found this full-page ad when looking through a pile of old 1966 National Dragster Newspapers.
I had known that Yenko was involved with the Dana sponsored 67 L88 Corvette but didn’t know that Yenko and Dana had any plans involving 427 Camaros. It is not known if Yenko sold any Dana 427 Camaros. They both ran/sponsored 1967 Z/28 racecars so would have been competitors in road racing the Zs in early 1967. Yenko soon after did his own SS350/427 transplants then had the deal with Dick Harrell. I don’t know of any other Yenko/Dana Camaro info other then this the early 1967 ad. That’s why I say this 69 Camaro looks like a made up rat rod type Camaro. Also, it does not show signs of being a racecar such as roll bar, stripped interior, formed wheel wells, trim removal, etc. but it looks cool and would like to hear more about it. |
