Very nice showing of Chevelles. Makes me wish mine were done, but that's probably not going to happen soon. ![]() [/ QUOTE ]How many cars do you have Mayor?? I bet I know how you do it. After a customer drops their car off for a resto you just don't give it back? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here's another 'Top Gun' winner that many haven't seen as yet. Owned and restored by Dean Davis from Moline, IL.

Just out of curiousity; why would that LS-6 Pilot car need to be restored? If it's all original wouldn't it be wiser to leave it as is? From the pictures that car looks great just as is.

The car has already been through a minor restoration a few years back. Still looks pretty good to me too, but the current owner evidently wants it to be better.

[/ QUOTE ] If it still had it's original paint I would have left it alone. I was talking with Harry Snow at SVF,he located this car in 1990,knew it was a very early build and bought it from a classic car lot. He found the first sheet-it still had original paint very unmolested intact smog pretty sure motor had never been out. It traded hands a few times and as Dennis alluded to receieved an amateur level frame on in the mid nineties. It's missing a few minor items but has great bones and all all there. I have enjoyed it in it's current condition, but if any LS6 deserved the full monte it has to be this one. I could care less it's an auto and green,or that i'm going to be buried in it when finished. It's a historically significant car and while some could care less about that provenance i am honored both to own it and have Rick bring her back to assembly line condition. If timing works out on the restoration I am going to shoot a video of the car with the GM exec who ordered and took delivery-forty years to the day after it was built. ![]() |
