I had to have that done at my old house. Not every garage door company does it. Don't know why though because it's not that big of a deal.

I did it at my house. You have to find a garage door installer that is willing to sell you the torsion mech (based on weight), spare tracks and extra panels. Here are some pics. Since these have been takem, I added an opener. Its very tight at the top, but does work and clears the Camaro

Thanks guys I really appreciate the help!

As you can see from the attached pic, I have about 4 feet clear under the ceiling, so I should have no problem clearing the cars with the door once it is raised. I have asked the installation company for a quote, but no response so far...

I am going to do the same thing at my place... I have alot of space as my garage is built into the side of hte hill the house is on... great info guys... thanks for posing the question Mark.

I wish we had more space here James, but we live in the city and land is at a huge premium. We have no choice but to stack cars with a lift. The two bays on the right are off-limits to everyone else...they get the bay on the left for their junk

I also meant that I have alot of space to go up, not out... I too live in town and space is a premium... unlike my dad who has garages everywhere... grrrrrr
