I'm usually not on the dealers side but even the "honest" dealers in these situations consider hammering customers because if they don't somebody else will.

What's the big deal on that one? The dealer quoted a price, got it, made their profit, and went on with their day. If the buyer managed to resell and net another $20K, that's free enterprise.
