It was probably pulled out and replaced with the small block for some reason. I'll bet the power brake booster also vanished for less weight while racing.... Unless the article is wrong and calling it a ZL1 when in fact it is a small block camaro... But then the price does not reflect that. I don't think a small black camaro would have cost that kind of money in 69.

The mods on this race car are in line with the mods done to ZL-1 #65 N643779, Fathom green 4-speed. Sold new at Lavery Chev Alliance, Ohio.

Still around, still in racing trim. One of few ZL-1s with #9737.

Someone bought a ZL-1 Camaro new and raced it? What was he thinking?
