I wanted to see it back on the road with before and after pics too. It's a shame he bought it just to flip that quick. He says that he wants a driver someday, hell all he has to do is clean it up and reinstall the motor an trans and he has his driver. If he gets 60k for that car i should be able to get 80k for my Z,which is noway a 80k car.

Wow, I'll say it's irrelevant. Since we're spouting off numbers related to other people's purchases, how much did you pay for the black one you're asking 90k for?

DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR WAS A GIFT TO HIM. HE CAN ASK WHATEVER HIS HEART DESIRES. IT TAKES ALOT A NERVE FOR SOMEONE TO SPOUT OFF WHAT THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FOR ON AN OPEN FORUM WHEN IT IS OF NO CONCERN TO THEM.I HEAR OF SCENARIOS LIKE THIS DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND IT JUST TURNS MY STOMACH. THIS IS COMING FROM A GUY THAT WANTS $90K FOR A BLACK Z/28 WITH A CE MOTOR RIGHT ??? KP

I knew I was going to get ripped on that one... I said it is irrelevant... the black car was alot more than 15-16k... and the numbers given at that time were a value of approx 50k as is... no work done. There was more than 15k in work and parts collected to put the black car to where it is.

Granted this car does have the original engine and paperwork... but from what I saw it looks as though there are holes rusted through the fenders... so I said a number of 40k as is... maybe a little more. That is not a number I would be willing to pay seeing as the car is going to need a complete exterior resto... (bare minimum) can't see the car being worth more than 80-90k restored. If the rust damage is not as extensive as I would imagine it is... then maybe the car is worth $50k.

Who cares if the previous purchase price is "spouted out" the money is always made on the buy side and just because someone knows what was paid for the car does not make the car or (any car for that matter) worth any less. He bought the car below market, he was happy and the seller was happy, that's the best deal when both parties walk away happy.

nothing personal, JAG, but if you ever posted anything like that about a car I own...I GUARANTEE you one of us would lose his right to ever post here again.
