One of the sweetest “survivor” cars out there. I remember when it first surfaced, as per barn finds, was second only to the Red ’68 DH Chevelle. Too bad that all of the negativity from the Harrell camp has turned most collectors, and even a lot of enthusiasts, off on any car remotely associated with Dick.

[/ QUOTE ] and what is so sad is that it is the car(s) that suffer, NOT the people. The cars are the innocent bystanders in all of this and they are the ones that get the brunt of the shunning. Sad that it has come to that. There are people here who feel that some of their collector cars are no longer welcomed here or at some shows due only to the fact of "guilty by association" and that is very sad. What did the car or Dick do? It is the Legend that we should respect and not what has happened since. I know there is much more to the story behind the scenes but it is still a shame. ![]() One of the highlights of my musclecar career was locating, cleaning and bringing that car back into the forefront. Now I feel like if it were parked in my garage, no one would want to see it and that is just sad. A 1 of 1 car that is left out to pasture due to some issues it had NOTHING to do with.

Rick, I could not agree with you more, the cars should stand on their own merits and not be judged by who happens to own them. Unfortunately this is not always the case. Ever have someone beat on your car with her fist because she dislikes you? I have.

The current owner of this car has been sent a personal invitation to join us for the LS-6 Showcase at the upcoming Chevy Vettefest April 5-6.
Sure would be an awesome addition to the show and would be not only welcomed, but embraced and appreciated! BA |

Howie has had to deal with a good deal of grief. Way more than he should have to.His car is a good example of the Gibb/Harrell connection, and an important piece of racing history. I've know him long enough to know how much he holds both of these men in high regard.
But the person , who in my humble opinion is the very best ambassador for Dick Harrell is Ray Morrison. I've known Ray for many years, and I believe no one anywhere can leave you with a better feeling about Dick H. than Ray. JMHO If I could go back in time, and meet one of these pioneers of muscle /supercars. It would be Dick Harrell. And I believe, even though Mr Cumby says "Howie lies", that this year at the reunion. Our friend Mr. Howie will "light the fires, and burn some tires". ![]() |

In regards to the 68 , it IMO , was "technically" not a barn find . The second owner drove it to work a few times before it went to the dealer in KC . Would always anticipate it's return so i could stick my head out of the bay i was working in & privately shave my carrot when it was in the parking lot .
