wish we had movie actors like him today [/ QUOTE ] I'll drink to that. I recently bought "Island in the Sky" and "The High and the Mighty" on DVD an they are two of the finest flying movies ever made. The original stories were written by the dean of avaition writers, Ernest K. Gann. The High and the Mighty is considered to be Hollywood's first "disaster/suspense" film and the later "Airport" series of movies are basically sequels to The High and the Mighty. If you are sick of what Hollywood dumps on us nowadays then go get one of these and watch it. The Duke at his (non-western) best. |
