"I also felt BJ management responded to the feedback they were receiving and took a page from the lawsuit and made some changes."

Can anyone elaborate on this?
I'm curious to know what changed this year because of this.

To me, as a casual observer, it's seems like they went out of their way not to put the hammer down on the bidding.

I think we heard the term 'Well Bought'- "Quite Often" at this years event

"under the Money"
"You can't restore one of these at this price"

Fun to watch.

Did anybody count how many 55-57 T-birds were featured on the coverage? It was just ridiculous. They would cut away from much more interesting cars just to arrange their TV coverage around those old Ford 2-doors. So what if it was the only 57 T-bird made in Metallic Fleshtone with matching virulent, pus-colored interior. They are boring, old cars.

I never saw what the green 70 Hemi Charger went for. And what was up with the tan 70 Hemicuda going for $140K. There's gotta be a story behind that sale!

Just doing my part to raise the collective IQ of our members.

Of course, I had to check with my 12 year old on how to spell "IQ"

I agree with Charley about the cars @ Barrett Jacksos there was some very nice stuff there, original, concept, one off, and resto-mod, but just from the pics posted on this site it looks like Russo and Steele had some very top notch muscle cars, the only thing I don't agree with was Craig Jackson bidding on non-charity items, i.e. Robosaurus, because after Craig bid $450K and the bid wouldn't move after that they were not going to quit working it until it did, and Craig had a look of concern on his face about taking Robosaurus home, but as far as Craig bidding on charity cars and raising money for charities with no sale fees involved, then there is no conflict of interest that I can see there, just my .02 cents, maybe I am wrong.

Does "Well Bought" mean that the seller got screwed?
IMO, since Ford was the dominant sponsor, it is not surprising that other brands were given less screen time. You don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Also, some of the cars that Craig Jackson said were under the money WERE under the money. There were numerous hot rods, resto mods and some admitedly incorrect retorations, like the yellow Shelby Mustang, that sold for less than what it would have cost to put them together.
The '68 and '69 Camaro resto mods cost the sellers a bunch of money to build, and they both sold for half of that.
As Jay Leno said about himself, being the president of the "More Money than Brains Club", some guys always end up upside down on their pet projects, and get their lunch handed to them. How many time has it been discussed that $100k was invested to restore a car worth $75k?

I basically think the whole thing is a musclecar/old & new car circus, "dog & pony show"!! It is entertaining to watch and thats about it!! Most of it is

You would have to be a real idiot to pay those prices for some of that stuff!!

Along with the prices this year are down 20% -33%. But it always seems BJ sets the pricing standard.....which IMO should not be that way. The people should set the pricing standard
