The reserve is not just what the seller wants it to be. He/she has to confer, cajole, and convince the auction house that the car can likely bring the reserve otherwise the auction house is likely to lose if the reserve falls far short. R & S is big into promoting reserve auctions to alay the fears of their customers (as compared to BJ) and they take setting the reserve very seriously. They are generally good at it and hence have been able to sell alot of cars at a lot of money.

Does R&S allow the auctioneer to place bids for the seller up to but not quite the reserve price? That's what I thought, unless that was one of the other auctions.

Am no pro, but I did not think this was permitted.

Something seems a little fishy here. #1 $440,000 bid, and #2 No sale. If legit, what would a documented, converted, Gold Spinner '68 Yenko Camaro bring?

I believe Colin was on it at 200K and it just zoomed up to 400K. For what it bid up to you could own Colin's converted car with a 427.

Kruse Auction have you sign papers giving them the right to bid the car price up
