Okay...someone explain to me why there are spacers between the exhaust ports on the heads and the headers?

[/ QUOTE ] The 351C heads had TERRIBLE!! exhaust ports so they milled off the exhaust side of the heads and fabricated straighter raised ports through the aluminum adapter plates.
