Has anyone used a NKR reproduction? Are they metal bases like the originals? I can not seem to get the web site to come up.

Here's one

Jonesy, do you have the diameter of that lid? The one I have looks pretty darn close to that one. But it is the same outside diameter as a 69 cowl cleaner. Something like 15.5 inches? I have to measure it tonight. thx

There is a quote on their website from Jerry M stating that their work is very nice in regards to the 68 base...

Is this the same lid? It measures a little bit over 16.5 inches.

The cowl plenum air cleaner lid is 16 13/16" in diameter. That lid you show is similar but not correct. I believe it is the one used on 327 4bbls. It has rubber inside the groove around the edge whereas the real cowl plenum piece does not have any rubber there. To my understanding, Nelson Rudisill uses the style of air cleaner lid as shown in your picture because it is relatively close in appearance and then makes his own base to fit that slightly smaller lid. That way he only has to manufacture the bottom, not the whole thing.

Thats just a pic of one that I have saved for future reference. My car does not have cowl plenum, so I dont have one or need one.
