Don't some early Camaro tags have white paint on them?

It all depended on what the factory workers did. Some factories put a piece of tape over the tag before doing any painting, and others sprayed firewall black around the tag leaving the tag body color. And other factories of course sprayed over the whole tag when doing the firewall. I think it depended mainly on the factory, but also on the specific painter.
