Default Re: 69 Z Stripes

Bill
Painting the dark cowl area for white strips cars was just what they did. It is rare to see white paint past the rubber on the cowl panel though.
A friend of mine had a original paint Green 68Z with stripe deleate, and the whole upper cowl was painted white on the line B4 they realized stripes were to be deleated, made for alot of Q's on cruise nights.
If you have never read this http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml from the Camaro Research Group http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml
It is a great read. It gives alot of info on what went on between Fisher body and GM and what was involved to put a car together.
Should be a must read for all GM guys.
Tell us more about this ZEE.

Mike

Here is another shot of the rear stripe on a 69Z around the trunk lip with overspray. Also stripes at the front lip on the hood and header panel could have shown overspray.
