Thanks Rich.
I've asked the guys to drop my reserve 30K. I think it is a very good price for a Yenko restored to this level, with Yenko doc's. It needs a good home & I need to get on to the next project. ![]() |

The auction's at 200 with 23 hours left. I've instructed the AMS guys to drop the reserve another 10K.
Nice resto, great color, excellent documentation, style trim option, Z23 interior option...it's a really good value now IMO ![]() |

Hope you can bump the top bidder up a little(a lot more)or your giving the car up pretty cheap. ![]()

Jude! Tell them to bid the car up, since you have a couple of bidders.( Have a friend Bid it up ) See if the bidders fall out. I bet they fall out around 175-200K. If not,you will have a REAL buyer Did I hit the # on the head ?? Yes Tom !! Thats the way they should do it !!
Its the same way a reserve Auction works. I know you dont agree. I bet the next Yenko Camaro with ALL the Pedigree I bring out will be getting hit by his #, that it ended at. $200K This is the # people will remember. Everybody knows he wants more then that, now he needs to bump him up to what he will really take now. But the rest of the world saw $200K. Im just trying to help a member here who needs to sell his car. I dont see a problem with a guy wanting 300K and a bidder is sitting at 180 to bring it up and see where the guy falls out.Somebody running up a car when they have the money and making the guy pay more( I dont agree with that) ![]()

Rich..two things jump out at me as I read your post.
1. shill bidding 2. manipulating the market Why not list it as most members here do, such as Colin and Charley, and simply list a buy it now price? That gives any potential bidders an idea of what it will take to buy the car. If no one takes atvantage of that option, then I would imagine any offers and/or the high bid may be considered.

Sorry Tom ! NOBODY does it better then them...
![]() Speaking for myself,I have NO skeletons in my closet on ANY dealings that I have done over the years. Do you think if the prices dropped tomorrow that it would hurt me.. I sold what I had. I am a broker who will sell them when they are high and I will be selling them when they are low.. ![]() I agree the car should have been BUY NOW but Jude said he was not aware of them posting the car. I was trying to help him, that I feel would have tarnished is car.If it didnt sell and truthfully every car afterwards. Just my 5 cents !!

If you want to benchmark at a magic number....don't start your bid below that number. It simply is not right in any circumstance to put in fake bids on an item to drive up the cost. That is the risk you take when you auction something....I am sure you would not have a problem with it if you were the one trying to bid on/win an item?

Let me just make sure I understand where your coming from. Its okay to shill bid when your hard up on cash and need to sell the car at a higher $$. But its not okay if you have plenty of $$ and really don't need to sell? Something is really wrong here. If this person really, really needs to sell the car then take the $200K and be done with it. Is that the true market value?...maybe it is? Thats the risk you take when you make an investment. Leave the shill bidding out of it as your just falsely inflating the market price to suit your own needs. If he can't afford a loss on it then wait until Spring when the market might be better. You guys are making me laugh !!
![]() I can say I have NEVER used e-bay or any auctions for my clients or myself. I very rarely even touch a car after its been on e-bay. People are shill bidding EVERYDAY on these auction sites and if any of you have bought cars or parts, its been done to you. I have sold over 20 Yenko cars and I never needed to use these venues.. Pedigree cars SELL without these places. Sorry if you dont agree with what I told Jude !!! I do agree with most of you.. ![]()
