Need help with numbers decode. Can't get at casting number with tall Moroso valve cover in place. Engine is in my '55.
Here's the block pad stamp: ![]() Looks like casting date? Located ahead and above oil filter base. ![]() |

The casting date is on the passenger side rear flange of the block, about six inches outboard of the distributor.

Thanks! I'll try to get at the casting numbers. Removing the valve covers should do it. I need to check the valve lash anyway.
