there was a bunch of companies making CD boxes in 60s-70s.
I believe the theory was something like, when a car cranks over it get 12V to the points for a better spark. When running it gets about 8V to the points or points would burn out too fast. The CD box would give higher voltage to the points without burning them out so they claimed more HP, better mileage, longer point life, etc |
