Hey folks.. I haven't posted any progress pics since mid June, mostly because there's nothing real exciting about sanding body panels day after day. Anyway, I finally have the 69 Elky ready for paint. I spent a good part of one day masking and a good part of another painting the bed, door jambs, interior and roof. Now with the bed/door jambs finished, I will install the doors, then mask off the bed and roof, close the doors, and paint the whole outside. The bed was the biggest project, but it came out better than I would have ever expected. The extensive body work was well worth the time, and the countless 4 letter words I spread around the work area, were well worth it in the end. I spent almost 2 months getting the bed straight.

Here's a couple before/after pictures. More to come, when I can get some spray booth time..

Thanks for the possitive feedback folks. More pics soon I hope, if all goes as well as it has to date.

Chuck.... The interior red oxide was done with Sherwin-Williams sealer. I am spraying it on the entire car, before the color coat, to have a more even base under the orange. It matched the original red oxide to a tee, so I used it in the interior too. In the interior it will be covered on every surface except under the dash. The paint rep suggested it, and said it would hold up fine as long as the sun doesn't beat on it a lot. So in the interior, that won't be a problem. I sprayed etching primer first. The rep suggested clearing it with a satin clear, if it was to get a lot of sun light.
