-----I could be wrong but I believe a fitted block and possibly a complete shortblock was available and would have had no stamp on the pad. Check the deck to see if it has broach marks or circular machine marks which would denote that the block has indeed been decked.........Bill S

Thanks Olredalert I was told by someone else the same thing. That is the whole reason why I posted the Question. I do not see Broach marks. I think I will remove the heads and look at the deck Better. Look at Rixls6 photo he posted. I would say if the pattern is straight like his that yes it's never been decked. I will take some pictures of the engine and send them to Bruce to post. I was told the guy who had the engine Bought it new in 69 over counter. This had to be one of the Baddest things available over the counter. Ed
