You know, I've been looking for a set of those bumpers for a very, very long time. I have never seen or heard of any still existing. There is a fastback Bill Thomas Chevy II that survived to this day and possibly it might have a set. I'd say your best bet would be to have a fiberglass shop fabricate a set from old photos. A good shop like VFN or Glasstek could do it. Sure, it would be expensive, but you'd have something very speciial. Several of those Bill Thomas Novas had those special bumpers. I'm actually surprised that Clary's Novacaine never had a set.

I've always thought it was a 3-4 piece front clip because there's so many photos of Bad Bascomb with just the hood removed. I have found an NOS, never installed, straight axle front suspension for an early Nova, but I felt the owner was a little out of line with the price. Dick Harrells '65 Chevy II ended up sitting behind a gas station down in South St. Louis before disappearing into oblivion. A friend possibly had it, but stripped the paint to bare metal and put the shell on a tube chassis before I had a chance to examine it.

There was one of these fastback Novas for sale in Hemmings for 50K in the Performance cars/Racing section for about a year before it disappeared back in the early 90's.

Was doing a search on the internet tonight on articles about my dad, Dick Milner. He was the driver for the Alan Green Chevy II Fastback here in the Northwest (the green colored car). Only 3 of these cars were made. My brother actually told me today that one of the cars burnt to the ground, another crashed and my dad's car was bought by a friend of ours, Gordon Apker. Apker has since sold it but my dad knows where it still is.

Hotwheels (or some type of toy manafacturer did a toy car of it) and that car was bought by Don Fezell back East and my dad went to a reunion and drove it again. I was searching the internet tonight because my dad is turning 70 on Friday and was looking for things on him. It's so awesome to see these cars still talked about- and him! There's been many articles as of late that he's been in. If anyone has any questions for him, feel free to ask. I can pass this along to him. Happy 70th Dad!! Meagan

Also wanted to mention that if you do a Google search on the car there's an article that Apker wrote after he bought it. It actually broke my dad's and his long time friendship as the article lacked much truth and my dad confronted him about it.
At my dad's party this weekend Larry Webb will hopefully make it to celebrate. He worked on the engine with my dad. Does anyone remember Jerry "The King" Ruth? He'll be here too. It'll be fun to see my dad with his old buddies, as he's stayed in touch with them and is still very much involved with drag racing...if only he had put me in a car when I was younger instead of my brother... ![]()

The reason those early BT cars have the cutouts, and mine does not, they were built for road racing, which meant they needed a way to cool the front brakes. Later on they became drag cars. My car and DH's 66 were purpose built drag race cars, thus no need to cool anything. Heck, mine does not even have front brakes.
