Oh Boy, finally here's a topic that I can contribute some info to.....
They definitely built 4 speed air conditioned 1973 Z/28 Camaros. I have owned several of them and still have one that I bought back in 1990 or so.... My current 1973 RS/LT/Z28 is 100% matching numbers and came from the factory with a four speed, factory A/C and Ca Emissions (car has been here in Ca since new). The only restriction was you could not get a close-ratio four speed with the A/C, it had to be the wide-ratio gearbox. There's my $.02 worth.......
