Maybe the seller and Les had an agreed upon arrangement?

Bruce, very well could be true in this case. Overall though, it is accepted by many that a potential buyer contact sellers and try to end an auction early [ebay can ban you for this ],Ok to inspect things after already winning them[also not allowed by ebay], yet if a seller has sellers remorse or is told later he sold an item too cheap and wants to default ,all of a sudden people get upset. Just sticking up for the sellers

Good Point King. I noticed that as well people mentioning not going through with it. I do know Les well, and he is a stand up guy and I am sure will do the right thing.

Also, I really don't think it's that bad a deal. Especially if you are looking for a nice driver and not a 100 point show car. Especially if you can do some things yourself, as I believe that Les can. All in all, I think you can make a driver LS6 out of that car for 30k or thereabouts if you can do some work yourself.

I am still concerned about the buildsheet. Are there any codes on there that would support this being the sheet for this car?

Now, if the sheet were bad (ie some error that would disprove the car belonging to the sheet), then I would think that it would be OK for the buyer to back out, IMHO.
