It would be hard to validate this price on Dick's Hemi Factory lightweight because of its extreme rarity, but it definitely has superb notoriety, great provenance, strong track exploits, race hemi heritage (reintroduction of the hemi), etc. I can say this is a very important milestone car. $750,000 is a lot of money, but it is nonetheless an awesome, forceful race car that changed drag racing in transitioning from Super Stock to Altered Wheel Base and ultimately Funny Cars. Chrysler created the factory AWBs the following year ('65) as a result of Dick Landy's exploits. Dick was a real pioneer.
