Default Re: NOS GM#3856223 CRANKSHAFT

There are a few different cranks 1] the ebay nos ones that are from 125 to 275 are mostly all seconds[due to handling] that were from a bus company from about 7 years ago . They were strapped to palats 100 at a time or so and almost all are nicked, rusty,or need to be cut or whatever, ive heard there were 3000 of them and one outfit bought them all. 2] 7115s are the real L88 niotrated cranks and expensive 3] the cross drilled, black green and pink nos 6223s were used in counter L88s after the 7115s ran out around 1980 but not the factory 68 and 69s which used 7115,they are just as good as the 7115 and less money 4]there are also those grey looking non crossdrilled pieces that someone puts red dots on to look new ,i say they are used and someone is trying to sell them as nos. i bought a few and they were way under spec.I think they are PAW core?cranks being sold as nos for whatever reason, still a good deal for under 200.00 if you can get one that doesnt need to be cut. make sure the crank you get is in the box or from someone you know or it will probably be a second or blemish, and in some cases a returned crank to GM that someone didnt want or was out of spec. I have bought a few nice nos cranks for 125.00,im not sure how anyone can sell them so inexpensively. It cost that just to have one turned, any crank in the gm box[or if you know for sure its true nos] is worth buying.

Well I sure don't know about it as much as the 427 king, but I would guarantee STD/STD on the dimentions, and have it mag tested. I KNOW this is brand new and not junk, it was for my 69 L-78 Camaro, and if you know how car extremists are, you know this had to be good. Joel

Joel, You knowing its NOS is a big plus and it will command more money because of it. Alot of the prices and cranks on ebay you cant compare with even though they are listed as nos, they really arent . Even in the case where they actually havent been in a motor, theyve had repair, been repolished,or have nicks and need to be welded or cut.
