Chapter 625 ILCS 5/3-804(b) ![]() [/ QUOTE ] For the Illinois guys, straight from the State of Illinois General Assembly's web site.... ![]() http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilc...Vehicle+Code%2E (b) Any person who is the registered owner of an antique vehicle may display a historical license plate from or representing the model year of the vehicle, furnished by such person, in lieu of the current and valid Illinois antique vehicle plates issued thereto, provided that valid and current Illinois antique vehicle plates and registration card issued to such antique vehicle are simultaneously carried within such vehicle and are available for inspection. I have a question regarding this topic. There are companies that
manufacture replacement license plates for our hobby. I'm not sure of the particulars here, but I'm wondering if you could have a plate made ( eg. 69-396 ) and register it under this program? ![]()

Now keep in mind the guy in florida makes his plates out of aluminum. The problem here in Ohio now is that all the paperwork is done at the local license store....and they check your old plates with a magnet ! So make sure you know your states proceedure before having a set made. |

I like it when an owner goes the extra mile and displays the vintage windshield mounted village sticker too.
Not every village issued those,as was my case,so I opted for the selling states original inspection label instead. ![]() |
