I discussed this with Ed one time. I do believe whether some may certainly not follow the rule that the numbers did go in some sort of a a sequence to the date of the block.I had 5 blocks marked and they all followed this,Ill send what i have when i can locate them. I think my april 69 block was 264? but i could be wrong

hey king...i would really appreciate any info you have on your blocks...pics would be better of course...i am tracking the cast date and cast numerical sequence number(the small number below cast date...all are 052 blocks as far as I can tell)...the assembly stamped pad #'s (although I have only a few recorded as most have been apparently decked)...and of course the small stamped number that is on the back of the block and the main caps...all help is appreciated as we hope to someday have enough info to make reasonable assumptions as to how the production occurred... and possibly offer my findings if they seem relavant...
Doesn't anyone else out there have an original ZL-1 block...We would like your data for our database...where are all you original ZL-1 owners?? Im sure a few have the original motors still...or a replacement dated block...and I see enough clones on Ebay... We are interested in All dated original ZL-1 BLOCKS.. To King and all others...thanks in advance!!! |
