I wouldn't exactly call that paperwork BULLET proof. Window stickers have been reproduced for years now, and they're getting better at making them look old too. POP's are being reproduced also to near perfection, how hard would it be to credit card imprint that over the pre-delivery sheets that are also being reproduced? BTW, that one looks awful new for 37 years old. I'll take the good old fashioned build sheet any day as there is one thing they can't duplicate on it no matter how good the font and information is on it. Just my .02 on it. BTW, there are some very intelligent people on TC.

Mike...there are a LOT of really knowledgeable people over at TC....I know I've gained quite a bit of knowledge there.
Personally I think the car is cool. There will always be people that will argue whether a LS6 Chevelle that is missing it's original engine is still an LS6... I guess it gives people something to do with their time...LOL ![]()

I know the owner personally and this is a true LS-6. He said he has not looked for the build sheet, so it may still be there.
They reproduce all sorts of paperwork today. The bottom line is a person looking to spend that kind of money *needs* to do their homework. I also know the guy who raced this car in the early 70's - he's a mechanic here in Kalamazoo. The guy selling this is a good honest guy.

Hey Rob, I strictly replied to the bullet proof statement in a hypothetical way. I see the seller has a great e-bay rating and that carries it's own weight and he is no doubt a great guy. I totally agree that anyone interested needs to do their homework and go look at it. No doubt the car has great potential and I hope it finds a new good owner to restore it.

My post was more aimed at the people that were being so critical and even taking personal shots at him. He is a friend of mine and I probably should have put my post on the Chevelle website - not here. Sorry, I didn't mean to jump on anybody here including you...

Hey Rob;
Do You remember the Red, White, and Blue 70 SS454 convertible that was in Kalamazoo until the mid 90's. I bought it from a guy named Doug who had several killer Chevelles including a 9 second 65 in yellow. Jim ![]() |
