guys the word is, she cant insure a roller up front, if you pull the motor for work/service after its insured that is fine.
my car was running/driveing two weeks ago before service work began so I am ok, but dragging home a field car would require it to run then come apart for Service. dont quote me, give them a call but that is what I was told today. B. ![]() |

Being in the business I can say that on occassion a carrier will insure a project if there is an existing policy with restored/completed vehicles already on it. Contact your carrier specifically and see if they will accomodate you, Haggerty has done this in the past

In reference to vehicles under restoration, how this is handled really depends on the size of the collection. The standard underwriting response is that they want the vehicle 80% complete. However you can purchase a vehicle intact and then begin restoration on that vehicle and it will still be covered. I have many clients with cars under restoration that are less than 80% complete. Therefore, it will really depend on the size of the collection and can vary between clients. If you have a specific questions relating to your policy I would suggest calling me to discuss. Thanks, Tami Perto

I purchased my 68 Camaro L78 ordered from the factoy motion alterd 427 black on black m22 488s . Canadian docs
purchased it in bushels from a friend ,along with 2 pick up trucks full of NOS parts and used orig parts. After getting it home I called My insurance they told me to get an apraisal of the car in its current state, with all of its parts.. I did he came over took pics of the parts and car and then apraised it at about 40,ooo. dollars as is. The insurance company then insured the car. Mind you when it was in the shop getting painted and then I was worried because if they would of stolen it from the paint shop my insurance would only reinburse me the 40,000. and I had a hell of a lot more in the resto.I guess the paint shop would of been liable but I would of lost this great Canadian drag racing champ. ![]() ![]() ![]() PJ |
