In '66 a friend of mine followed his SD396 Beaumont down the line in Oshawa and had it built with no emblems. It came to final inspection and the inspector would not let it out of the plant without having all the emblems installed. I eventually owned that very car. In '70 technically all SS cars were Malibus with the SS option package added. In '69 they could be 300 Deluxe as well with the SS package added. I got better insurance rates because our COPO Chevelle was a Malibu and not an SS car.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
