Looks like an old "Grumpy" trick. He used to paint his engines black; claimed it helped dissipate heat.

That is pretty damn cool... Removing the piece of aluminum that separates the primary and secondary openings on the intake manifold increases high end torque.

I thought the automatic tranny radiators had inlets for the tranny cooling lines?

It is an automatic SB radiator. If you look closely you can see the trans cooling inlet and outlet on the right side.

The BB rad looks to be for a stick car no plugs on the right tank.
