Hi, Look on the pad where the starter bolts for any stampings, if it is an over the counter block it will be stamped there, is it a 2 bolt or 4 bolt.

The "512" was a 427 and 454 block used in a lot of hipo Vettes, Camaros, and Chevelles. It should be a 4 bolt block but without the assembly date stamp on the front passenger side pad, it could be difficult to tell just how it was used. If it has two oil cooler line ports by the oil filter, it usually means it's a 4 bolt block.
