For that reason, I think Canada only used the red ones, and thats probably why they had them all the way up to 86. My father was in the process of restoring the convertible around that time and I don't think he was able to get them from GM the way he was able to get so many other things. While at Carlisle he found a pair of NOS red foils in a junk box for $20, and that was the last NOS red ones Ive ever seen. So maybe the US ran out faster than Canada, but like you said, we will probably never know..I heard about a find by a few people a couple years ago at the Alcoa Aluminum factory of a box full of brand new SS427 foils. It is very interesting how all these extra SS427 ones were here, when by the looks of it factories in 68 were possible running low on them.. Steve

Do you mean the ones at Alcoa? Those were the Black/silver SS/427 style. There may have also been SS/396 ones also, I never asked.
