Not that it bothered me at the time, but the name "Demon" caused alot of bad press from the Evangelicals who disapproved of it. Chrysler dropped the name because of this. Hard to believe they are that stupid to bring it back.
![]() Of course, "No va" in spanish means "no go", and a "Matador" is a "killer", not a bull fighter. ![]() This is why marketeing people have a hard time getting any respect. ![]()

I think it's kind of cool. If anyone has a problem with Demon they ought to be taken out back and shot...its a car name for crying out loud.

Marc, Belair, I was LIED to. I use Snopes all the time, but never thought to look for this particular example, since I heard it in college.
Mea Culpa. ![]()

I remember once when Dad's new '71 Polara was in for dealer service they laid a new purple 340 Demon on us for the weekend.. Of course this included church on Sunday and we parked at the back of the lot so no one would notice we came with the Demon!. As far as the new Demon goes, it looks too much like a warmed over Crossfire...no thanks.. ~ Pete ![]()

Here's a link to the real story. http://www.snopes.com/business/misxlate/nova.asp |

Not that it bothered me at the time, but the name "Demon" caused alot of bad press from the Evangelicals who disapproved of it............. [/ QUOTE ] But the flip side of this story: We had a Catholic Priest from the Quincy, IL area who used to race at our strip; a Great Guy and a dedicated, hardcore, successful racer. His name was David Munn and he had his car lettered as "Father D.MUNN" with a little devil incorporated in the artwork. Unfortunately he died of natural causes at a very early age,(around forty if I remember correctly.) Everyone liked and respected the guy. Just a lot of fun to be around, and obviously a cool sense of humor. ![]() __________________________ Now, for the new Demon.................. looks like that POS Solstice collided HARD with a Ram truck.
