69LM1, first and foremost make sure the VIN matches the # on the radiator support!! friend or no friend, you need to confirm that for yourself!

the vin on the dash is important (however) the data tags on the inner fender list the complete vin number in the right lower corner, the tags or a build sheet is a must to maintain any real value to the car, galen can make a new vin tag as long as the body numbers (cowl, radiator support, trunk seal area,) are the same as the body tag or build sheet, the vin rivits are also avail (roset style) i know a guy who has a coffee can full of these from a chrysler assembly plant, 30.00 a pair i think,

Amen! That's why I am driving out there tomarrow am.
With the camera. It's no fire sale, and not advertised, and he is a very close family friend. At some point, I will probably flip the car, which is why I want to make sure that the price is fair for him. Of course, I told him this as well, he wanted to practically give me the car at 14,000.00 prior to that. He's now saying 17,000.00.

Who knows? Once I drive it, I may keep it! Sure is nice that everything can be decoded.

I did talk to him a few hours ago and he stated that it does have the original Dana rear end in it.
