There is a "supposed" 69 BM Vette around here. I say "supposed" because I dont really know anything about these cars, or specifics about the car in particular. The bodywork is more mild than this one, and has a ZL1 console plate.

"The yellow ZL-1 is in the hands of a Corvette collector by the name of Roger Judski of Roger's Corvette Centre in Orlando, Florida. He purchased the car in 1991 for $300,000 at a federal government auction. It had been restored in the 80s in Houston, Texas and then sold to a private party. The auctioning of the car was a result of a seizure from Richard Joseph Lynn who was convicted of dealing cocaine and sentenced to life in prison with no parole. Judski’s plan is to keep the car for life and he doesn't drive it. "
Wow!

I have some great internal original GM documents around here dealing on the Judski 1969 ZL-1 Corvette.
First is an October 69 Zone letter alerting ALL Dealers that the St.Louis plant has a used 1969 ZL-1 Corvette with 3000 miles for sale at company car discount.Call local zone if interested.. Also a nice interperspective series of letters issued after that Govt. seizure of the Yellow ZL-1 Corvette in the 1980's.It was brought to the attention of the Chevrolet higher ups and they were sending memos back & forth constantly to eachother about obtaining it for GM's Heritage Museum. They said it was an opportunity they couldn't afford to pass up so hire a well known Corvette expert to inspect it,fly him back with his report, and lets bring that SOB home! Talks about how much they should bid at the auction. Also mentions seeking out any inhouse documents on that Corvette itself,if there are any. Neat candid perspective on eachothers views and speculation on the cars future importance. They ended up going way over their budget and still lost it. Boy where they upset.. LOL |
